Update: World Changer Church International, home of Creflo Dollar Ministries, was the sight of a shooting Wednesday morning in Georgia. Sources say a well-dressed-man walked into the chapel, located in Fulton County, and shot a man who was leading a prayer. The alleged gunman is still on the loose.
Citing a report Wednesday fromMyFoxAtlanta, the shooting is still under investigation as news crews continue covering the developing story about this morning’s murder at Creflo Dollar’s church.
A bible study at World Changers Church was taking place at the time the shooting took place. A man, only described as an African American male in his 30s and dressed in a suit, walked up to a 48-year-old church worker and shot him point-blank. Source say the alleged gunman fled in a Subaru, based on new information.
Creflo Dollar is the senior pastor and founder of the mega-church. Authorities report he was not harmed or involved in the shooting at the Fulton County location.
World Changers Church International has grown to over 30,000 members and Creflo Dollar Ministries has about 22 other locations around the country.
After the Georgia shooting, a constant stream of messages on Twitter was posted, mostly of grief and outrage.
The church is supposed to be a place of peace and sanctuary. However, it underscores that violence can take place even in the least likely places.
Fulton County police are still in search of the alleged gunman involved in the shooting at World Changers Church International campus.
Creflo Dollar has not made an official statement at this time.
It must be noted that the two largest Black Churches in the Atlanta Area have had public crimes committed on their grounds in the last 30 days: New Birth where Bishop Eddie Long is the Pastor & World Changers where Creflo Dollar is pastor. New Birth Story What an eerie coincidence.
