We do not know what happened to the young man who subsequently died after his arrest, however we do know that the there are several possibilities; even the possibility of the police being responsible. But man, this is crazy! What we are doing (black people) is the not the answer. Jesus is. We need our churches fighting for the power and presence of God to reside in our city officials. The church has put more effort in making it known that “Black Lives Matter” which is true, but that should not be the emphasis. The truth of the matter is: “All lives Matter” not because we say so, but because God says so. Folks; the answer is always Jesus! In fact, God’s desire is for all to be saved and to live their lives according to His standards. 1 Timothy 2:1-6 says:
1I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 3This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. 5For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. 6He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.
Our prayers go out to the family Freddy Gray and to the City of Baltimore as a whole. We pray that they’ll be such a strong presence of Jesus in their midst, ultimately giving their lives to Christ.
